Women in Securities Finance Opens the Toronto Stock Exchange

Women in Securities Finance chapter leaders, Roanna Kim, Director, Equity Finance, RBC Capital Markets, and Mary Jane Schuessler, Director, Equity Finance, BMO Capital Markets, along with their Toronto network representatives, joined Steve Everett, Head of Business Strategy and Innovation, CDS, Toronto Stock Exchange (TSX), to open the market and celebrate the group’s five year anniversary. Women in Securities Finance is an independent, global industry networking group with the mission to create a community of professionals to foster connections and promote the advancement of women in the market. The network now operates across 5 different global regions, with a current membership in excess of 1,000 - inclusive to all. The group aims to fuel ambition and drive growth, by creating a spirit of sharing and collaboration on best practice and professional goals. A recent win for ‘Best DEI Initiative’ at the Securities Finance Times Industry awards in June 2022, was an acknowledgement that Women in Securities Finance is changing the conversation in our marketplace around DEI and having a material impact on the careers of many women, as they increase their visibility and advance to more senior roles across many organizations.
